Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle Raspberry/Opal

I honestly didn't plan on purchasing any of the Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Soufflés, but a few friends were raving about them and other friends posted on Instagram saying how lovely they are.  I had a gift card to Sephora so I thought, why not?!

After swatching all the colors in the store twice, I decided to purchase the color Raspberry/Opal. There are five other colors - Guava/Moonstone, Watermelon/Moonstone, Lychee/Opal, Fig/Opal, and Papaya/Topaz. They're all so pretty, but I liked the Raspberry color the best.

Each of the Beach Tints has a color that's swirled together with one of Becca's lovely highlighters (moonstone, opal, or topaz).  I own the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone, which is a liquid, and is for fair to light skin. Opal is for light and medium skin, and Topaz is for darker skin.  Becca also makes a pressed powder highlight in moonstone, opal, and topaz.

The highlight and blush in this product isn't a liquid or a powder. It's more like a bouncy, gel like consistency. The highlight and blush are swirled/marbled together in the product to create a unique color for your cheeks.

Each Beach Tint smells like it's name- Raspberry smells like raspberries, Watermelon like watermelon, and so on. The scent is noticeable if I smell the product in the jar, but once applied to my cheeks I can't smell even a hint of it.

At Sephora, the shimmering soufflé retails for $27 each (for .20 oz).  I feel this is on the expensive side and I think that it'll force me to use this product more often (being a cream/gel, they tend to dry out which would mean it would 'go bad' faster than a powdered blush).  I also think that being a cream/gel, it's easy to take too much product out of the jar, so I need to be careful when applying this product.

To apply the blush/tint, I use clean finger tips and dab the product onto the apples of my cheeks and then blend up onto my cheek bones. The color lasts all day on my cheeks and provides a nice healthy glow.  In the pictures below, I'm wearing two applications of the color. I applied it once, let it dry, and then patted on a little more to increase the color.

I like the different shimmer particles in the Opal highlight the best, which was another reason I opted for the Raspberry/Opal soufflé.  The blush color is a cool-toned, plummy pink. The mix of Opal, which is a warmer highlighter, with the raspberry blush color warms up the color a little bit and also imparts a beautiful shimmer.

Now onto swatches! I wanted to show you side-by-side comparison of the Raspberry/Opal Beach Tint Shimmer Soufflé and other blushes that you may have in your collection (for color reference). I also am trying to show you the depth of the dimension of this blush and the amount of shimmer it contains.

None of the other colors I swatched alongside Raspberry Opal are cream/gel blush (they're powder).

Here are three blushes that I thought were similar in finish. All three are frosty/shimmery and have different colored specks within the blush color.

The shimmer is very noticeable in this last photo. I love seeing all the different colored sparkles! The Opal highlighter creates lovely dimension to this Becca cheek tint.

I think that this product is really unique and I'm glad I bought one. The Becca highlighters are very popular and I think it was a smart marketing move on Becca's part to include/marble the highlighter (and include the name) in each blush/beach tint color.

Have you tried the Becca Soufflés?  What do you think? Which colors did you pick up?  If not, do you plan on purchasing one?  Please comment in the comment section! I would love to hear your thoughts :)

  1. Great comparison swatches! I'm so glad you went with Raspberry! I smelled Fig in the store, and the scent was a bit unbearable (for me lol.) I've got my eye on Papaya next :)
